Prince William & Kate Middleton’s Future Daughter Can Be The Next Queen!

It’s official! If Will & Kate’s first born is a girl, she will be first in succession over any younger brothers!

Now, the law has finally caught up with the times and will change to allow the firstborn child of the monarch—boy or girl—to take the throne. Which means should the couple welcome a daughter first, she will now be eligible to become queen.

Under the old succession laws — which, by the way, were more than 300 years old — the heir to the throne was the first-born son of the monarch. An eldest daughter could only inherit the throne if there are no sons — which is how Queen Elizabeth was passed the crown from her father, George VI.

If Duchess Kate and Prince William have a daughter someday, she can grow up to be Queen, even if she has younger brothers!
