It’s official! If Will & Kate’s first born is a girl, she will be first in succession over any younger brothers!
Now, the law has finally caught up with the times and will change to allow the firstborn child of the monarch—boy or girl—to take the throne. Which means should the couple welcome a daughter first, she will now be eligible to become queen.Under the old succession laws — which, by the way, were more than 300 years old — the heir to the throne was the first-born son of the monarch.
